Kensington, Krezip & Man man man de podcast
AV engineer

During the first week of December, EMG Blue Label provided the IMAG feed for a series of exciting productions. The schedule included three Kensington shows, a performance by Krezip, the farewell show of Man Man Man de Podcast, and the return of Boyz II Men to the Netherlands.
For these productions, I was closely involved throughout the entire process: from collaborative planning during preparation to the build, execution during the shows, and the final strike. Together with Thomas from EMG Blue Label, I was responsible for the video engineering.
Technical Setup
The camera configuration varied per show and consisted of a mix of:
- Blackmagic Ursa cameras
- Panasonic PTZ cameras
- DJI Ronin 4D (specifically deployed for Krezip and Man Man Man de Podcast)
The intercom system utilized a full Riedel setup, including Bolero units for wireless communication. With the exception of the Krezip show, I handled the shading for all productions.
Innovative Workflow: Krezip
During the Krezip show, the Ronin 4D was operated in S-Log, with the signal converted via an AJA Colorbox. I established a link between the Blackmagic shading controls and the Colorbox for this setup.
This allowed shader Niels to control the Colorbox directly from his ATEM Camera Control Panel. By generating a 3D-LUT live, parameters such as iris (via gain), color gains, and black levels could be adjusted in real-time.
